Dirt Done Right
The Excavation Crew Utah County Builds On
From a commercial pad in Saratoga Springs to a custom home foundation on the bench, we handle the dirt phase that every project depends on.
Utah County is booming, and the ground here does not make it easy. Cobble and river rock along the old lakebed. High water tables near Utah Lake. Tight municipal grading and drainage requirements. Aggressive build schedules where the whole job waits on the excavation crew. A contractor who does not know this ground, or does not communicate, becomes the bottleneck that holds up every trade behind them.
Pro Excavating & Grading is different. We have been digging and grading the Wasatch Front since 2017, for general contractors and homeowners alike, and our reputation comes down to two things our customers say again and again: on time, and great communication. We show up, we hit the grade, and we keep you in the loop.

Why Pro Excavating
Precise, Professional, On Time.
Anybody can move dirt. What sets a professional excavation contractor apart is precision and communication: hitting the survey grade, keeping the site safe and clean, and telling the GC or the homeowner exactly where things stand. That is what keeps a project on schedule and off the punch list.
- On time, every time. We show up when we say and keep the schedule moving.
- Great communication. You always know the plan and the status.
- Commercial and residential. Two sectors, the same professional standard.
- Grade-accurate work. We hit the numbers the survey and inspector require.
- Utah owned since 2017. Local, accountable, and here to stay.

Excavation & Grading
The core of everything we do. We dig, cut, fill and grade to precise elevations for commercial and residential builds. Turning raw ground into a buildable pad: stripping topsoil, rough grading, establishing drainage and getting the site ready for foundation and utilities. Clean site prep keeps every trade that follows on schedule. More on site prep →
Foundation Excavation
Footings, basements and building pads dug to plan and compacted to hold. We coordinate with your builder, hit the grades, and keep the excavation safe and accurate so the concrete crew keeps moving. More on foundations →
Underground Utilities
Our specialty. Water, sewer, storm drain and dry-utility trenching, set to depth and slope, bedded and backfilled to spec, with Blue Stakes locates called every time. Commercial and residential alike. More on utilities →

Built For Utah Ground
Excavation That Understands The Wasatch Front
Good excavation is invisible when it is done right and impossible to ignore when it is done wrong. It is the layer nobody sees once the building is up, and it is the layer that decides whether the slab stays flat, the utilities stay put and the site drains. On the Wasatch Front, that starts with understanding this specific ground.
Cobble & River Rock
The old Utah Lake lakebed left cobble and rock through much of the valley. It slows a dig, eats trench walls and changes how you compact. The right iron and an operator who expects it keep the job on budget instead of hitting rock and stalling.
High Water Tables
Close to Utah Lake and the wetlands, groundwater can show up shallow. Trenching and foundation work near it takes planning and care, and we build drainage and dewatering into the approach so water is managed, not fought.
Grades & Inspections
Utah County cities hold tight grading and drainage standards, and a commercial job answers to a survey and an inspector. We work to the numbers so the grade passes the first time and the trades behind us are not held up.
None of it is glamorous. It is dirt, rock, water and grade. But it is the foundation, literally, of every project we touch, and it is why builders across Utah County keep our number. When the grade has to be right and the schedule cannot slip, you want a crew that knows this ground and communicates like a professional.

The Point Of The Mountain Boom
Growing With Utah County
There may be no busier building corridor in the country right now than the stretch from Point of the Mountain down through Lehi, Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain. Tech campuses, retail centers, multi-family, and thousands of new homes are going in across ground that was farmland a few years ago, and every one of those projects starts with excavation and grading.
Pro Excavating & Grading grew up right in the middle of it. Being based in Saratoga Springs puts us minutes from most of Utah County and a short run into Salt Lake County, which means fast mobilization, competitive pricing and a crew that already knows the cities, the inspectors and the ground. As the valley keeps building, we are built to keep up, with the equipment, the experience and the communication that busy commercial and residential schedules demand.
Whether you are a GC breaking ground on a commercial pad or a family building a custom home on the bench, we bring the same professional standard: on time, on grade, and easy to work with. That is how you grow a reputation in a market this competitive, and it is how we plan to keep earning yours.

Excavation FAQs
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Saratoga Springs and serve Utah County and the Wasatch Front: Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Provo, Orem and up into Salt Lake County. If you are nearby and not sure, call (385) 313-1017.
Do you do both commercial and residential work?
Yes. We handle commercial site work, pads, utilities and grading for GCs and developers, as well as residential foundations, basements, driveways and lot grading for homeowners and home builders. Same professional standard for both.
Do you work with general contractors on schedule?
Absolutely. A lot of our work is coordinated with GCs and superintendents. We hit the survey grades, communicate clearly, and keep the site moving so the trades behind us stay on schedule.
Do you handle underground utilities?
Yes, it is a specialty. We trench and install water, sewer, storm drain and dry utilities to depth and slope, bedded and backfilled to spec, with Blue Stakes locates called before every dig. See our Underground Utilities page.
How do I get an estimate?
Call or text (385) 313-1017, email proexcavating.grading@gmail.com, or use our contact form. For most jobs we will review the plans and the site, then give you a clear, competitive written estimate.
Do you call Blue Stakes before digging?
Every time. We honor Utah Blue Stakes (811) locates before any trenching or excavation. It protects you, protects us, and is simply how a professional excavation contractor operates.
How soon can you start?
It depends on the season and how booked we are, but we move quickly and keep clear communication on timing. Call (385) 313-1017 and you will get an honest schedule, not a stall. For time-sensitive commercial work, tell us and we will do our best to fit it in.
What equipment do you run?
A versatile fleet sized for Utah work: excavators for digging and foundations, machines for grading and site prep, and trucks for hauling material in and out. Matching the right machine to the job keeps your project efficient and on budget.
How long have you been in business?
Pro Excavating & Grading has served the Wasatch Front since 2017, building a reputation for on-time, professional excavation and grading in one of Utah's busiest building markets.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry the insurance a commercial and residential excavation contractor needs to work on general-contractor jobsites and residential projects, and we are glad to provide certificates for your project.
Can you handle both the excavation and the grading?
Yes, and it is our name for a reason. We take a site from raw ground through excavation, site prep and underground utilities all the way to finished grade, with one accountable crew, so nothing falls between separate contractors.
Do you work with survey grades and plans?
Absolutely. On commercial and larger residential jobs we work to the engineered plans and survey stakes, hitting the elevations the design and the city inspector require so the grade passes and the project stays on schedule.
What size projects do you take on?
Both ends of the range. We handle small residential jobs like a foundation, a driveway or a drainage fix, and larger commercial site work, mass excavation, pads and utilities for GCs and developers. Whatever the size, you get the same professional crew, on time and on grade.
